Mexican restaurant to open at Dawley Farm Village
A Brookings-based Mexican restaurant group is adding an east-side location at Dawley Farm Village.La Cantina has leased a 3,500-square-foot space in a retail center between Buffalo Wild Wings and Pizza Hut. The vacant space was a former Massage Envy location.
“This is a really exciting addition for the east-side residents of Sioux Falls,” said Ryan Tysdal of Van Buskirk Cos., who brokered the deal.
La Cantina is owned by Reyes Aranda, who owns 10 other restaurants, including a partnership in La Plaza Fiesta in front of Walmart at 85th Street and Minnesota Avenue.
“La Plaza Fiesta has been very well received on the south side of town. I expect La Cantina will go over very well for east-siders,” Tysdal added.
“There are currently thousands of acres of residential development happening on the east side of Sioux Falls,” Tysdal said. “Retailers and restaurants want to capitalize on all the residential growth in the area.”

La Cantina plans to open sometime next year.
It’s the second recent announcement at Dawley Farm Village, which also is adding a UPS Store.
The constant growth of east-side neighborhoods is a driver in attracting additional restaurants to the area, he said.
