Mexican restaurant opens at Dawley Farm Village
Mexican flavors have arrived with the latest restaurant opening at Dawley Farm Village.La Cantina opens today in the east-side development. The restaurant is at 704 S. Highline Place in a retail center between Buffalo Wild Wings and Budget Blinds.
The restaurant is owned by Reyes Aranda, who has 14 Mexican eateries in four states, including La Plaza Fiesta at 85th Street and Minnesota Avenue.
The menu is similar to La Plaza Fiesta, with a broad range of options.
Appetizers include a variety of nachos, plus dips such as a spicy chorizo queso and the “flaming cheese,” which is pepper jack cheese lightly breaded and fried, served with warm tortillas on a sizzling hot plate and flamed tableside.
There also are more than a dozen burritos, several kinds of enchiladas, seven varieties of fajitas, multiple birria dishes and house specialties, including street tacos, chimichangas, carnitas and a Mexican-style T-bone steak. Additionally, there are many steak, chicken and seafood dishes, as well as vegetarian entrees and lunch specials.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
