It's back! Kidtopia returns with popular Easter egg hunt
After two years without a hunt, you can once again search for Easter eggs at Kidtopia while going home with some great goodies.
The popular toy store at Dawley Farm Village is bringing back its annual event this Saturday, April 9, beginning at 10 a.m.
"It's very, very popular," owner Sheryl Nelson said. "We're making enough goodie bags for 400 and we used to have people outside standing in line waiting when we opened the doors. I don't know, since we haven't done it in the last couple years, but I imagine it will be busy."
How it works
When kids enter the toy store -- spots will be limited to about 50 people at once -- they will search for four plastic eggs, which will include small candy inside.
Bring your own basket to gather them and then bring the eggs to the back of the store.
"With that, they get a bag of goodies," Nelson said.
And these are some sought-after goody bags. Each is unique, but here are some examples.
It gets even better. There's a chance the egg contains a golden bunny sticker, which means an even bigger prize.
"We'll also have the Easter bunny making appearances," Nelson said. "Bring your cameras, because you might get a visit with him."
And if you need a little help with Easter baskets in the household, Kidtopia has you covered there too. Starting at $50, the team will create custom baskets of varying sizes tailored to age, gender and your child's interest.
"We can make any basket," Nelson said. "Dinos, crafts, unicorns, whatever, and we'll put it together with candy and custom toys."
Sounds like fun to you? Maybe you or someone you know should work at Kidtopia! The store is hiring part-time positions for evenings and weekends. Stop in the store to apply today and you might even be able to help out with the egg hunt.
